Favourite Rustic / Rural Wedding Locations

There’s something about weddings in spaces that feel lived-in, authentic, and just a little bit wild. The kind of places where you don’t need to try too hard — the backdrop does it for you. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to shoot in a few of my favourites:

Federal Hall
A charming spot with that classic rustic hall feel — high ceilings, wooden beams, and a sense that it’s been hosting community gatherings for decades. It’s simple, flexible, and full of character, which makes every wedding feel personal and relaxed.

Holy Red Deer Estate
Rolling hills, open paddocks, and a light that photographers dream about. The estate has this quiet elegance that feels both intimate and epic at the same time. Perfect for couples who want a touch of luxury without losing the natural, rural vibe.

Bookfield Hall
Small, unassuming, and full of charm. It’s the kind of hall where you can make your wedding completely yours. I love how adaptable it is — whether you’re going for simple, floral-filled tables or a full-on rustic celebration, it works.

Northey Street City Farm
Technically in the city, but with a distinctly rural feel. Gardens, barns, and that organic energy of a working farm make it feel like you’ve stepped somewhere completely different. It’s a favourite for couples who want an earthy, grounded vibe without venturing too far from Brisbane.
