Your day, your way —
quietly real, softly honest, entirely you.

Portfolio

Take a look through some of the weddings I’ve had the honour of capturing — from quiet elopements to big love-filled celebrations. Every couple, every story, every moment is a little different (and that’s what I love about it).

“It’s been 7 weeks since our wedding, but every time we look at our stunning photos by Rachel we’re transported right back to the moment. Rachel has an amazing eye and her photography beautifully depicts the candid moments of our special day. We have sooo many beautiful photos that encapsulates the day perfectly, we love them all. If you are looking for someone for your wedding photography we cannot recommend Rachel enough. She’s absolutely wonderful as a person and a photographer - trust me when I say you will have so much fun and enjoyment with Rachel.”

The Process

  • Let’s kick things off with a laid-back chat, either in person or over a virtual coffee. I want to hear your love story in all its glory—how you met, your quirks, and what makes you tick as a couple. This is where we start piecing together your vision for the big day. It’s not just about the logistics; it’s about getting to know you and what makes your relationship unique. I’m here to listen, share ideas, and start crafting a plan that feels just right for you.

  • Once we’re on the same page, we dive into the nitty-gritty. I’ll scout locations, discuss the timeline, and make sure every detail is in place to capture those candid, magical moments. Whether it’s a specific shot list you’ve been dreaming of or a surprise moment you want to capture, I’ll plan it all out. I’m all about blending my expertise with your vision to create a seamless experience. This stage is all about preparation and anticipation, ensuring that come wedding day, everything flows smoothly and effortlessly.

  • Your wedding day should be about living in the moment, not worrying about the details. That’s where I come in. From the first glance to the final dance, I’m there to capture it all without interrupting the flow. Think of me as part of your extended wedding party, moving through the crowd to catch the joy, the laughter, and the love from every angle. I’m stealthy, yet present, capturing the grand gestures and the quiet, intimate moments. My goal is to tell the complete story of your day, so you can relive it again and again.

  • Once the confetti has settled, I get to work on curating and editing your photos. This is where the magic really happens. I meticulously go through each shot, enhancing the colors, adjusting the lighting, and ensuring every image reflects the emotion and energy of your day. You’ll get a sneak peek within a week, and the full gallery will be ready in about 6-8 weeks. Each photo is crafted with care, and by the time I’m done, you’ll have a stunning collection of images that truly capture the spirit of your wedding. This is where your memories come to life, preserved in a way that’s both beautiful and timeless.

Rachel has a rare gift that enables her to capture the rawest and most tender of moments in a way that is respectful and unobtrusive, whilst at the same time dynamic and creative. We engaged Rachel to shoot our Byron Bay wedding on extremely short notice and we received nothing but heartfelt compliments from every guest that interacted with Rachel about her lovely nature and her patience and commitment to doing the best job she possibly could for us. Aside from her technical abilities, Rachel is just simply a good person with a big heart, lovely gentle nature and genuinely cares about making the whole experience as comfortable and special for the subject/s as she can.

 FAQs

  • The full wedding package is usually sufficient to cover a wedding day from start to finish, capturing; the bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony, portraits and well into the reception. The elopement package is designed to cover a smaller portion of the day, usually the ceremony and a portrait session with the bride and groom.

  • All I need is a running sheet for the day with important names and phone numbers as well as a list of which family portraits you’d like taken. Then you can leave it to me to ensure that I am in the right place at the right time to capture all the key moments as they unfold. I will be sure to capture all the little details of your wedding and I will focus a lot of attention on capturing candid moments between you, your family and your guests.

  • Try to avoid the middle of the day, when the sun is directly overhead (approx 11am – 3pm). This causes unflattering shadows and highlights on faces, and makes everyone squint! If you can, aim for a time where the sun is at a lower angle, particularly for your portrait session. The Golden Hour (the last hour of light before sunset) is prime portrait time.

  • Yes! If you feel like you want more angles covered and another set of eyes on the day, I have a number of talented photographers who I work with. There is an additional cost for this because not only will there be another person working, it also means a lot more images to edit afterwards.

  • Yes please! All day photography takes a lot of energy, so if you have booked me for more than 5 hours catering for me that would be appreciated!

  • To secure your date of choice, a non refundable deposit of 20% per photography package is required. Until a deposit is paid, the date remains free for any other enquiries. Full payment will be due 4 weeks before your wedding day.

  • Of course! We will meet once before the wedding to get to know each other and talk about your vision for the day and the schedule. I am also available to chat and help you with any questions or ideas you have at any stage in the lead up to the wedding.

  • The number of images you can expect is specified in the package you select. All images are individually colour-graded and enhanced and you’ll receive all your images in colour as well as additional black and white versions of the ones that really lend themselves to that style. I will deliver your images in both high res format ready for printing as well as a low res format ready to be shared online.

  • You’ll get a sneak peek within a week, and the full gallery will be ready in about 6-8 weeks. If you have ordered an album or framed prints, you can expect to receive these approximately 3-5 weeks after you proof the album / prints. I’ll let you know when it’s on the way so you can be on the lookout for your package.

  • I keep my editing process light. I like to ensure that the images look real and not overly processed. Generally I will work with the images colour palette, highlights, shadows and contrast. During my editing process I’ll ensure that your images have a consistent pallet and feel so that they work together as a collection.

  • Many people choose to have a wedding album created or some images printed and framed. I’m happy to help arrange all this for you as an optional extra to your wedding package.

  • You will receive all the images from the wedding in a private online gallery where you can download both high resolution and web sized images. So you will always have a digital copy of all the images.

  • If you are ready to make a booking please shoot me through an email with the date, location and package you are after and we’ll get the ball rolling. I have a limited number of these spaces available each year, so please get in touch sooner rather than later if you are keen to book a date.
